House of Gozdawa was conceived in deference to nature, the beguiling African continent and all of its glorious smells.
The story starts many moons ago, with one little girl and her fierce-spirited, parachuting, aristocratic grandmother. Precious knowledge was passed down from one generation to the next, and out of this a strong desire to share African realities, stories and scents with the world was born.
Our quest for unique and indigenous natural ingredients has led to the most intrepid adventures both on our doorstep and in faraway foreign lands: scaling intimidatingly high mountains, hurtling across the driest of dry deserts and diving headfirst into shiver-inducing seas.
We are obsessed with stories, with individuals from past to present, and of course, with scent. We wish humans could teleport or time travel, that smell-o-vision was real, but whilst we patiently wait for such capabilities (counting on you Elon), we invite you to join our olfactory ride.
House of Gozdawa has been creating epicene perfumes and more since 2015. We are based in Cape Town, South Africa.

Not your average candles. We only use essential oils and a blend of natural waxes to create these unique pieces.
Revel in the delicious, delicate scent as it swirls around your abode. Perfectly accompanies bubbles: of the beverage and long, indulgent bath kind.
Our candle vessels, which you can keep and reuse forever more, are shaped by hand in fine grade Black Terracotta. They are then pressed and finished with a unique Copper Carbonate stain lightly applied and worked into the ceramic to give each one a unique slate black finish with subtle metallic accents.
No candles are alike.
Each candle weighs approximately 300g.

Like marble exploding from a mountainside and shaped, we consider each piece a sculptural element for your bathroom which in time will be shaped by your own hand and body. Scented with a unique blend of all-natural perfume oils extracted from farms across Africa.
Dried summer grass, dusty red sand, woody and melodic notes of vegetation, all to the soundtrack of chirping insects singing away the heat of the day. Va-Va-Va-Vetyver is the cerebral celebration of all things grassy, woody, and delectably Vetyver drifting on a plume of smoke.
